This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how orders placed on our website are processed, shipped, and delivered. By placing an order with Desi Viraasat, you agree to the terms below.
1. Serviceable Locations
We currently ship orders within India only, covering pin codes serviceable by our primary logistics partners. If your pin code is identified as non-serviceable by our couriers, we will contact you to request an alternative address or arrange an order cancellation and full refund if prepaid.
2. Order Processing Time
- Confirmed orders are typically processed and handed over to our courier partners within 1–2 working days (Monday to Saturday, excluding national and regional public holidays).
- During special promotional sales, festive seasons, or periods of high volume, processing may take 3–5 working days.
- Please note that processing time refers to packing and preparing your order, which is separate from the transit delivery time.
3. Estimated Delivery Time
Once dispatched from our facility, estimated delivery timelines (subject to your location and destination courier operations) are generally as follows:
- Metro / Major Cities: 2–5 working days
- Tier-2 & Tier-3 Towns: 3–7 working days
- Remote / Regionally Difficult-to-Reach Areas: 7–10 working days
These are approximate timelines provided by our delivery partners. Actual delivery may vary due to unforeseen factors beyond our reasonable control, such as courier operational delays, extreme weather conditions, or local transport restrictions.
4. Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are calculated dynamically at checkout based on:
- The delivery pin code and regional tier.
- Real-time courier partner rates.
- Volumetric weight, package size, and the total order weight.
In some instances, we may offer promotional free shipping thresholds, which will be clearly indicated during the checkout process. The final shipping fee payable by you will always be explicitly displayed on the checkout page before you confirm and pay for your order.
5. Cash on Delivery (COD)
- COD is selectively available for specific pin codes and order thresholds at our sole discretion. COD availability for your specific address will be automatically shown at checkout.
- To account for logistics partner processing costs, all COD orders attract an additional COD handling fee of ₹50, which will be visibly added to your cart total at checkout.
- We routinely contact customers via call or WhatsApp for order confirmation before dispatching COD shipments. Desi Viraasat reserves the right to cancel COD orders in cases of past delivery refusals, incomplete contact data, or high risk of non-acceptance. Please ensure the exact cash amount is ready at the time of delivery.
6. Undelivered / Re-Delivery Shipments
If a shipment cannot be delivered due to an incorrect/incomplete address, an unreachable phone number, repeated customer unavailability, or a refusal to accept the package, the parcel will be returned to our facility. In such cases, we reserve the right to deduct the actual forward and return shipping charges incurred by us (including the COD fee, if applicable) before determining if the order can be reshipped. Any approved reshipment will attract additional shipping fees.
7. Delays Outside Our Control
While we work closely with top-tier courier networks to ensure prompt delivery, Desi Viraasat is not legally liable for shipment delays caused by courier logistics bottlenecks, structural strikes, natural calamities, regional lockdowns, or any other force majeure events beyond our reasonable control.
8. Damaged, Leaked, or Wrong Product on Delivery
Because our products are consumable spices and food items, safety during transit is paramount. If your order is received in a physically damaged, leaked, or incorrect condition, please immediately refer to the step-by-step verification guidelines outlined in our Return & Refund Policy (requiring a continuous unboxing video and photo reporting within 48 hours of delivery).
